Ryan Bolger’s last post was on October 12th…I’m thinking he hasn’t had much time between his teaching at Fuller, and putting finishing touches on his new book Emerging Churches: Creating Christian Community in Postmodern Cultures which is due out this December.

But that’s okay, because I keep going to his last post, thinking about what he is saying. Check out
Please, no more doing church for ‘them.’

In it, he answers this question that was asked of him:

But what could possibly be wrong with starting a relevant church service directed to spiritual seekers?

What do you think about his thoughts?

I am personally wrestling with this thought below, as we sometimes wonder as a college community where our energy should be put. Ryan says,

When the bulk of the community’s energy goes to maintaining a church service, it implies that the church service is more holy, more important, more worthy of our time than the everyday practice of our spirituality.
