I’m a graduate of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona where I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and I hold the graduate degrees of Master of Divinity, and Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.

I’m licensed in the state of Texas as a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (#201264). I’m an Associate Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists, the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapists, and the Dallas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. I’m also a Family Wellness Instructor and Certified Prepare and Enrich Counselor.

I have been working with adolescents, young adults and families in both church and clinical settings since 1994, and more recently as the college pastor at Bel Air Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles from 2001-2008. My areas of focus include marriage and family issues, adolescents, emerging adulthood, technology (transforming effects, boundaries, addictions, family dynamics), pastor’s families and issues related to spiritual identity, formation and journey. I’m currently on staff part-time at Highland Park Presbyterian Church where I work with the youth department and their families.

I speak and teache at various churches, conferences and workshops on issues concerning technology and ministry/therapy, youth and families, and marriage. I’m a frequent online contributor and I have written the chapter “New Media Ministry to the MySpace-Facebook Generation: Employing New Media Technologies Effectively in Youth Ministries” for the book “The New Media Frontier: Blogging, Vlogging and Podcasting for Christ.” I have an interest in the use of technology especially in the area of online therapy and ministry.

I’m an avid writer, blogger and runner, and enjoy traveling with my family.
