Whatever you do, please don’t be lying to people and trying to take kids out of the country to be saved and adopted in the US. I’m still so incensed by that and people thinking it’s their Christian duty. (BTW I know you won’t…) I wish you such an awesome, eye opening trip and I am jealous beyond measure!

Rhett, thanks for sharing, man. Some really great thoughts here, especially pertaining to why Haiti needs “non-experts” along with experts (i.e. medical professionals, relief organizations, etc.). I loved this quote: “[A]ll we can do is come to others with our vulnerable selves, and simply offer all that we have to give…which is our presence.”
