Curt,

It's a good two cents. Of all the characteristics on there, #12 is what I would have left off myself. I try to think of "hackers" used more broadly culturally as well then just the internet. And there is this idea of hacking, or mashing that I think Gen F really loves and thrives on.

I don't quite agree with #12. I must say. As a member of generation Y, or as you say here "F". I feel that the constant "pot stirring" that goes on on the internet or between Gen Y-ers in general, is rather pointless, and proves nothing. It's obscene input for the sake of having input. It accomplishes nothing, and makes the person doing so seem immature and I see in no way that that is the accepted thought between us members of generation Y.

Just my two cents.

Jonathan,

Thanks for sharing. You are not alone in that people think their spiritual authority is being challenged because leadership has become more flat. I think this is probably a problem in many churches. Many "older" pastors see young people as challenging their authority, yet they have often failed to realize how fast things have been changing around them.

I like your insight about 2, 7, 8.

Thanks for sharing...let me know how things continue to go.

I hit submit too early.

I also wanted to say that I think what the Web now does is accelerate true principles. For example #2, 7, and 8 exemplify the sowing and reaping principle.

The power of a flat organization has also made me cause problems. Though I meant not to be a problem stirrer, my contrarian and debate loving nature caused me to look as if I was speaking against my spiritual authorities. It was not the case, but I sympathize with the issue.

Looking forward to it, Rhett! As a college minister, these are ALL the people we deal with right now, so that's pretty key for us. Thanks for looking at these issues!
