Now that I’m a parent I am obviously thinking about the issue more, especially since I have a baby girl. It’s amazing to me how early little girls are being sexualized in advertising and culture.
Here is the book mentioned in the interview:
So Sexy So Soon: The New Sexualized Childhood and What Parents Can Do to Protect Their Kids.

I am not a dad yet, but I find myself thinking through situations with my kids and how I plan on responding. It seems like it is going to be a challenge to raise kids who are in the world but not of the world. God’s grace is sufficient…
I know you and Heather will do a great job raising Hayden. The “sexualization of our children” definitely gets worse and worse every year, every month, and even every day. I remember a long time ago when I was in 7th grade (that’s about 12 years old) and the girls were already starting to dress more scandalous, but this video is pretty crazy. They are so young (7 years old!). Good luck Rhett, I’m sure you’ll find a way.
