Donald Miller's Pre-Benediction Interview with Christianity Today

I found this video of Donald Miller’s pre-benediction video over at Brian Kiley’s blog.
The video is done by Sarah Pulliam for Christianity Today.
Good video. Curious what you think?
I hesitate to get into politics because it never seems to turn out well…conversationally speaking with many people.
When Donald Miller came to our college group a few years ago, it was definitely a great night. But one of the more heated moments during the night was during the Q & A where Don was faced with some political questions by some of my college students. Though I would say the majority of my college students lean more liberal and Democratic, the more conservative group and Republicans were not happy with his answers.
I have always found Don to be very articulate in his interviews and I like what he has to say on many topics.
So check the short video out for yourself.
Thoughts on the Connection Between Passion, Limits and Vocation....

There is a deep connection between what we are passionate about and our vocation. But part of finding true vocation is also acknowledging the limits that our passion brings us up against.

Bill Mahrer's New Movie, "Religulous"

Saw this over at Anne Jackson's blog today. I don't get too fired up when people make movies, or write books disputing what I believe...even in an inconsiderate and mocking way. I'm actually pret[...]
The Collapse of Traditional Hierarchical Structures ("The Death of the Alpha Leader")

I have blogged a lot on this site about the collapse of hiearchical structures, especially within the Church, and the rising level of leadership from the bottom. I see this change in structure as a g[...]

This last week my wife gave birth to our second child, a baby boy. The birth of a child is an amazing event, but I am hard pressed to find an event that better brings to focus one's limitations in li[...]
Dialogue in Preaching and Teaching....Part. 1.2

Cameron, over at Summa Aesthetica posts his second entry on dialogue in preaching/teaching. Great stuff. He has some pretty funny stuff about the fill in the blank sermon as well. I agree Cameron. [...]
He has a clear perspective on his political stance. To often Democratic Christians are a retort to conservative politics and conservative Christianity. He clearly points out that the Democratic Party has its own set of faults as does the Republican Party. As Christians I think we are called to act as mergers between the two in pointing out what is positive and productive from each party and introduce ideals that cross party lines. Donald does this with his emphasis on the importance of Fatherhood. We are quick as Christians to add accessories to the cross. Liberal Christian, Conservative Christian. One thing that resonated from his interview was that he was first and foremost, a Christian and that was all he needed to comprise his identity.
I loved seeing the interview, and I appreciate Don's approach to being a Christian who is politically active.
This is sort of off subject and I'm sure you've seen it already, Rhett, but Don has a newly launched blog and post number 1 is pretty funny.

Keep it up Rhett, I love your blog and check it as close to daily as I am able to.

Sorry but my comment has nothing to do with this post. You asked on Twitter if anyone knew a babysitter in the Dallas area and I sent you a message asking a few questions because I might can help you out since I'm of close proximity of Dallas. You didn't respond so now I don't know if you got it or not or if you found someone or not or maybe I shouldn't care but you seem to need help since you are new around here. If you need help, I'm pretty easy to find and I'm a Grammy for Pete's sake so I'm not a stalker or a weirdo. O.k. so maybe I'm a weirdo but I'm definitely not a stalker.
