Saw this over at Anne Jackson’s blog today.
I don’t get too fired up when people make movies, or write books disputing what I believe…even in an inconsiderate and mocking way. I’m actually pretty curious.
I agree with this commenter at Anne’s blog:

August 11, 2008 at 12:03 pmI’d be more interested if it weren’t Maher. It’s like watching Lou Dobbs talk about immigration or Rush Limbaugh talk about Democrats – you know what’s coming out of his mouth before he even says it, so why bother? The topic could be so interesting in the hands of someone who might surprise us with their analysis or commentary once in a while instead of beating the same drum the same way with every word out of his mouth.
What do you think?
Will you go see it?

I probably won’t “go” see it, but I will see it. It looks funny actually. What I would hope is that he would not put all religion under the same umbrella. It’s clear from the preview that he is focusing on specific kinds of religious expression that are more controversial.
