Tyler,

Great question.

My problem is not with email, but what email is used for. I think that's a great use for email (i.e. sending it to the band on a consistent basis). The problem becomes when it's used to coordinate lots of activities and decisions.

It would be interesting for you to experiment with a wiki for the band and see how it goes.

There will always be early adopters and they are easy to convince...but many are pretty slow for change, so that's a hard job...educating people, getting them excited about change..showing them how it will improve their communication.

I think you have to do a test case; let people see it for themselves, and get them to slowly buy into it.

I love wikis. Love the idea, love how they create a new way of communication and transferring information. Here is the problem. I'll be specific with my situation. As a band director I need to get information to my band. Right now we use email because that is by far the most consistent way to reach the players. Most of them use and understand email. So the problem with a wiki is that only early adopters are going to use and most of my band is not early adopters.

So my question is: how do you get people who aren't internet compliant to use wikis?
