    agree — of course — and not a subculture — we must engage in culture for all within our sphere of influence. and culture is to be broadly defined — not just news, tv, film, music, but also the pta or how a bank treats its customers or how we stand in line at the supermarket or whether we carpool or whether we slow down at a yellow light or speed up…

    I agree to a point, but I do not understand why this idea is that groundbreaking. Mahatma Gandhi was making the same statements 50 plus years ago. Does, anyone remember, “Be the change you want to see in the world”?

    Looks like Mr. Crouch is falling victim to his own critique about not copying ideas, because he is copying Gandhi. Which at this point makes his argument self-defeating. The reason it is self-defeating is Crouch is saying that it is not enough to copy ideas to change culture; you have to ingest new ideas. However, if culture is changed from his book then he changed culture by copying another’s ideas.

    Does anyone else see the flaw in his thinking…
