		<description>Cathy:

I like that idea of workshops and retreats. I think for many kids, they are growing up in this environment and it comes natural.

But what do we do about those of us who haven&#039;t grown up in the web 2.0 world? Who face this transition, but don&#039;t konw what to do? That&#039;s what I am wondering.

What does a boss of a company do when he or she realizes they will have to let go of some power and create a more participatory environment?

<description>I work for a social network/learner management system company. The points you bring up are excellent...including the one brough by the comment: How do we get this information into the hands of those who are NOT using social networking or other Web 2.0 features?

Have you thought about workshops at youth retreats? Have you thought about reaching the kids first (say, through youtube.com) to have them spread it to their youth leaders?

Those would be my suggestions.

		<description>Tyler:

Thanks man...I appreciate it.

It&#039;s an interesting dilemma. Those that should be online and reading articles and getting familiar with social tools, etc. aren&#039;t.

And those that are, are just having a hard time communicating the changing world to those people above.

Everyone is talking and communicating in their own cliques.

I don&#039;t have a good answer to your question.

The authors of the book &quot;Groundswell&quot; say you basically need that tech person/evangelist type, but then there has to be an advocate in upper management.

Those two need to be on staff and work together to bring about change.
